Metropolitan Diary

Just imagine that I'm reading this to you while we're eating our breakfast in the kitchen. You've probably already read the section, but you listen patiently to me reading it to you again so that we can chuckle over it together:

Dear Diary:

I recently went to a Yankees game with my grandchildren, who live out of town. They are Boston Red Sox fans, and they wanted to see Yankee Stadium. Sitting behind us were three young men fantasizing what they would do if they caught a foul ball. They agreed that the right thing to do would be to give it to my grandchildren, although reluctantly.

When Yankee player Johnny Damon was at bat ( he used to play for the Red Sox), my 10-year-old granddaughter stood up in her seat and yelled, "Traitor, traitor, you went for the money!"

Then the young man behind us said, "Now, you're not getting the ball."

Not to give anyone any ideas, but...

Here are two stories about some friends who are taking the whole practical joke idea to new levels. First, Chappie A encases Chappie B's apartment in tin foil. Later (after he spends TWO YEARS cleaning up the foil), Chappie B turns Chappie A's apartment into a hamster cage.

It Really Does Exist!

Then what they say is true: there is a Sun!

This is - quite honestly - the most light we've seen in weeks.

And all that at 6pm! Boy oh boy, this is a good day!

We need one of these

This guy built himself a treehouse after reading our book!

I love that he's considering building a tree out-building, and attaching it to the main house with a rope bridge. That's just so cool.

Creepy in the Extreme

I've been meaning to send this article out for quite a while - it's a bit outdated, but hasn't, I think, become any less disturbing with age.

A Trifling Matter (hahaha! I'm so funny!)

Observe the beauty of the cake mom made for my birthday!

We decided we'd probably need to add this to our regular diet. One almond brandy raspberry custard trifle cake to be consumed before bedtime - twice a month.
